Ruth Tarvydas - Sequins and Sparkles

It's late, but while we're still on a high from tonight we thought we'd give you a peak at the Ruth Tarvydas show from The Savoir Fair Perth Fashion Week.

The night was full of sequins and skin, as has come to be expected from any Ruth Tarvydas event. The Perth designer showcased her latest line accompanied by hauntingly eery music and enviable, majestic models.

Take a look at some the of the shots we managed from the runway below:

How pretty were those dresses?
Also, check out some of the familiar faces we spotted tonight:

We love the new collection and can't wait to see it when it hits stores later this year.

DIY - Pretty Receipt Paper Streamers

How pretty are these lace-looking ribbons we found at Walnut & Main?
They are so easy and will make a big impact at your party!

Here's what you'll need:
- At least one 1 roll of receipt paper, 2 inches wide
- Dowl (or something similar)
- 9x13 sheet
- Pattern Punch (ours was from Martha Stewart)
- A long workspace (try your kitchen bench)

Here's how to make them:
1. Arrange your rolls into a row and stick a dowel through the holes of the receipt paper rows. Put them ion a 9x13 sheet or something similar to keep them from tolling all over your workspace.

2. Next, lay the paper on top of each other, pull towards the punch and start punching away. For the ribbon to be nice and neat, make sure that all of the rolls are being stamped evenly. The punch has guides to where you need to move the paper to.

3. Lift up the punch one in a while to empty the bottom of all the paper that is being punched out. You could use these extras as confetti.

Now get decorating!

We love this idea, and can't wait to use it again at our next event!

P.S If you decide to use this fabulous idea, don't forget to post your pictures to our Facebook page, we'd love to see how they turn out for you!

Party Planning: Why go with a pro?

Professional Event Planners carry many names; Event Planner, Event Coordinator, Event Manager, however they all have one main objective, to produce an even that exceeds both the client's and their guests' expectations by going beyond the details of the event itself.

Many feel the cost of hiring a Party Planner will cause them to exceed there budget. On the contrary, hiring a pro will not only keep you on track with your budget, but may also save you money by selecting the best vendors and suppliers for you. The goal of an Event Planner is not only to save you time and hassle, but also to save you money.

Time is valuable. Time is precious. Time is priceless. Hiring a pro isn't a luxury - it's a necessity. Our goal at Elody Events is to create an extraordinary event beyond your expectations so you get to sit back, relax an enjoy the moment. Leave all the planning, paperwork, negotiations, and details to us. After all, it is what we love to do!

We Heart TRANSIT

It's not very often here at Elody Events that we have one musicians music on repeat in office for days on end. But we have fallen in love with the music from Transit's new demos and have been listening to it over and over.

Transit is an alternative rock/worship band, home grown in Perth, WA. Made up of 5 guys with a passion for music, their sound can be described as energetic, edgy and raw. The boys say they want their music to "impact and inspire people" - we think that's a pretty cool goal!

Want some even better news? The boys have just made their tracks available for a FREE download through their Facebook page!

Check the guys out this weekend at Strawberry Jam in Bussleton!

Head over and like their Facebook page - you'll want to keep your ear to the ground on this one, big things are sure to come!
